3      11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. 4-H and Joann’s Paper Clover Campaign, 82nd and Slide   RoadThrough the new partnership and the Paper Clover Campaign, new opportunities will be available for 4-H’ers. The Paper Clover Campaign will take place in JOANN Fabrics stores nationwide February 1—28. Supporters will have a chance to share their hearts and show their love of crafting and sewing by purchasing $1 and $4 Paper Clovers to equip local 4-H Clubs with resources to support 4-H projects. With the $4 Paper Clover, customer’s will also receive a coupon for $4 off their next purchase. Proceeds from the Paper Clover campaign will directly support Texas and Lubbock County 4-H programs. 4-H’ers will also be available to answer questions about 4-H and the many opportunities available.

The Lubbock County AgriLife Extension office will offer the private Pesticide Applicator Trainings that are required by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) before taking the exam to obtain a license. A private pesticide applicator is one who uses or supervises the use of a restricted-use or state limited-use pesticide or a regulated herbicide for the purpose of producing an agricultural commodity.

14, 15 and 16th – Farm Bill Meetings

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension to kick off Farm Bill Meetings with introduction and demonstration of Farm Bill Online Decision Aid tool. AgriLife Extension will conduct 5 meetings for South Plains and Panhandle farmers with the primary objective of introducing the Online program that will help farmers with decisions related to generic acres that must be made as Cotton is fully integrated into the current farm bill.

Dr. Joe Outlaw, co-director of the Texas A&M Policy Center will be the primary speaker. The meetings will be held in Lamesa, Lubbock, Plainview, Memphis and Amarillo.
